The Brazilian Academy of Sciences (ABC) and the Nobel Prize Outreach are organizing the Nobel Prize Dialogue Brazil, which will be held online on April 8 at 15:00-18:30 CET.
The main theme of the meeting will be “The Value of Science“, which is an extremely important discussion taking into account the complex moment the world, and specially Brazil, is currently facing. This event represents a unique opportunity to reflect upon the importance of science for society, and how science can help meet many of the challenges we presently face.
The first part of the meeting will feature a conversation between May-Britt Moser, 2014 Nobel Prize laureate in physiology or medicine, and Serge Haroche, 2012 Nobel Prize laureate in physics. The laureates will then be joined by Luiz Davidovich, president of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences, and Helena Nader, co-chair of the InterAmerican Network of Academies of Sciences.
In sequence, the Nobel laureates will participate in two roundtables with 40 selected students (20 per roundtable) from all over Brazil. Students will be coming from the Federal District and 22 of the 26 Brazilian States. This event is a prelude to the Nobel Prize Dialogue Brazil 2022, which will bring together Nobel Prize laureates and other thought leaders to discuss ‘The Future We Want’.
